"From Roamin' to Catholic"
By Jim Cork.
Bill Cork's brother Jim has his conversion story here:
.... Aside from weddings and funerals, I had never been in a Catholic church before, and was somewhat uncomfortable. Everyone was sitting and standing, kneeling and sitting again. And yet there were so many aspects of the Catholic liturgy that impressed me. There was a genuine excitement in the air as people anxiously awaited Christmas. The homily was not a Bible study, but was about about living up to Christ's teachings by taking a stand for what is right. But what really made an impression on me was the Eucharist. Communion in the SDA [Seventh Day Adventist] church was something that the people did once in a while to proclaim their faith, but the Catholic Eucharist, being the center of worship, was clearly different. When the priest held up the host and repeated Christ's words, "This is my body," I knew that this was no symbol -- this was the real thing....
(Thanks Bill.)
