Berkeley, California, SA

Not a typo. "USA" = "United States of America". "SA" = "Saudia Arabia".

An article in The California Patriot, Sep. 4, informed the country that American patriotism conflicts with Berkeleyan patriotism:

The "Star Spangled Banner" is too patriotic, divisive and political, so organizers of UC Berkeley's day-long tribute to the victims and heroes of 9-11 are excluding it. "God Bless America" is doubly excluded. Not only is it patriotic, but it also mentions God, something else that is taboo next Wednesday.
The Sept. 11 Day of Remembrance, sponsored by the Chancellor's office, the student body government and the Graduate Assembly, will also feature student leaders distributing white ribbons, instead of the red, white and blue ones they had originally planned....

Ain't the Internet wonderful? I mean, after news of that webpage got around, the backlash from across the country must have been overwhelming: Berkeley's Marxists officials decided that some colors besides the one associated with surrender might actually be suitable for the occasion, as this California Patriot article, Sep. 6, says:

Campus officials back-pedaled Thursday on their plans for a Sept. 11 memorial after incurring national ridicule for a tribute that originally was to exclude signs of patriotism.
As news of UC Berkeley’s plans to exclude patriotic songs and the American Flag at next Wednesday’s memorial spread across the country, Chancellor Robert Berdahl held a press conference extolling the campus’s patriotism.
Berdahl also said the university would distribute red, white, and blue ribbons, as had originally been planned. The patriotic ribbons had, until yesterday, been scrapped and replaced with white ribbons so as to avoid offending students on campus....

In light of these events, I have decided to write President Bush an open letter.

Dear Mr. Bush:
Allow me to make a bold suggestion: deliver a major, major policy speech, concerning the war on terrorism, from Berkeley, California.
In other words, take the battle to the enemy.
Sincerely, Lane Core Jr.
