Boycott Bad Media

A new group at Yahoo! Groups.

I got this e-mail over the weekend:

Hi,

I found your site while searching Google (search terms: Music Behind Bars ...... etc.). I enjoyed reading what you had to say about VH1 and Viacom, as it is reflective of the feelings of so many of us. Though, Viacom does not seem to care at all. From what I read, you received an email along with other folks from P-W (is that right?). I was on the I-N list, along with about 600 other people ........ actually over 1000, if you count both the email VH1 sent and the one from Viacom. Unreal!

The reason I am writing is to let you know of a group we have just started on Yahoo!, in the hopes that by uniting, working together and not allowing Viacom to intimidate us that we can win this battle. We keep up to date on which sponsors are still running ads and who has really pulled their ads, as well as continue to keep the pressure on as a united front.

Our group is small right now, since we don't feel we can just mass email the way that Viacom did to us (which was outright WRONG!). So, its really a word of mouth (or email to email) type of thing right now and we have just started posting on a couple of websites (see the links section of the group homepage). But we will not give up! Large corporations, like Viacom, must be shown that hey have a moral obligation to society and the way to show them is by hitting them in their wallets ....... through their sponsors.

I hope you will stop by the group and check it out and consider joining us in this fight. If we don't stop them now, who knows how far they will go. Also, please feel free to pass this email on to anyone who you feel would be interested in joining.
