A Special, But Necessarily Impersonal, Thanks

To the voters of Minnesota.

Without forgetting Senator Harkin, either.

For helping to rejuvenate one small-town man's faith in Americans' desire for decency, civility, and integrity in politics.

And, if I may be so bold, a hearty thank-you to Iowa's Senator Tom Harkin, who, in my estimation, played a prominent role in helping to ensure that he'll be in the minority in the next Congress.

P.S. Somehow, Walter Mondale's sudden resuscitation and quick re-interment has reminded me of K'ang Te, a.k.a. Hsuan T'ung, a.k.a. Pu Yi, the deposed last emperor of China who later "reigned" as Japan's puppet king in Manchuria for a decade or so.
