A Digression? Or a Cheap Shot?
Kevin Miller, for whom I have a lot of respect, really needs to come down off his high horse WRT Rod Dreher and NRO:
.... I don't know that reporting - even justifiable reporting of facts - that has the effect of putting the hierarchy of the Church in a bad light is "courageous." (Nor does it take "guts" - especially to play a rather secondary, little-known role in such reporting. By the way, it's funny: When a recent Dreher shot at the pope's handling of The Situation led another blogger to ask about the Catholicism of NR's writers, Dreher responded that, among other things, it was unfair to drag NR in since the provocative item had been written in the WSJ. But now he's thanking NR for running his "coverage." But I digress.) ....
Hmmm. No. Doesn't look like a digression to me. Looks to me like a cheap shot.
It also looks especially incongruous juxtaposed with the immediately succeeding blog, by the same Prof. Miller, about the liturgy and Passiontide and Holy Week, including a pious quote from the day's office. But I take a cheap shot digress.
P.S. Somebody remind me: why is it I read that weblog? Ooooops! I take digress again. ;)
