Luskin vs. Krugman
I have thoroughly enjoyed these columns by Donald Luskin at NRO this week, dissecting the way NYT columnist Paul Krugman deceived his readers, in a column Tuesday, about certain aspects of the Bush administration's proposed tax cuts.
Luskin & NRO go pretty far out on a limb, I think, when they accuse Krugman of lying. But the case is rather clear: could an economist with a very, very high profile soapbox be so inept as to actually be making innocently the simple errors he is pawning off on his readers? Luskin answers that question "no", and thus concludes that Krugman is deliberately deceiving his readers. An alternative would be that Krugman's mental agility was is? thoroughly compromised by his profound antipathy towards George W. Bush.
Either way, Krugman is Crudman.
P.S. Read Crudman Krugman's column carefully. As far as I'm concerned, it's a study in delusional projection (besides being a case study of political propaganda thinly disguised as stupid economics) so it reveals a great deal more about him and his cronies than it does about Bush et al.
