Blog Stuff Warning: technobabble ahead! Well, I've broken everything. Okay. Not everything. But I have reorganized the weblog, behind the scenes, so the archives have a chronological directory structure. To make a long story short, existing links whether internal links, on this weblog, or external links from other weblogs to the individual entry archives won't work any more. I have fixed the more recent internal links; but, unless I figure out a convenient way to do so, I won't be fixing the older ones unless I come across them. I had to do this because of (yes) my lack of foresight. From the beginning of blogtime, I was putting all the weblog's files into the root directory. I had accumulated way more than 2,000 files, what with archives and images and whatelse: since most FTP software truncates directory listings at 2,000 files, it was becoming too confusing for me. And probably inefficient, too, with so many files in one directory. So, I came up with a simple directory scheme based on the year and month. Which means, as I said, that old links to individual entry archives are broken. (Also, old links to the monthly archives.) Apologies to all my fellow blogsters whose existing links to entries in my weblog are now obsolete. :-( Lane Core Jr. CIW P Sun. 10/05/03 03:23:38 PM |
