Behold the Future III

You may thinking I'm really stretching here, but I don't think so.

Of three news-making events scheduled for next week, beginning tomorrow, at least two will surely bode well for the re-election of George W. Bush next year, for further pick ups by Republicans in the Congress, and for the continued incremental dismantling of the Liberal Establishment: (1) the "consecration" of an "openly" "gay" (and even more openly egotistical) "bishop" by the Episcopalians; (2) the broadcast of a mini-series defaming and mocking Ronald Reagan by CBS; and, probably, (3) the general elections scheduled for many jurisdictions next Tuesday or even later in the month.

The former two are, for my purposes here, merely further indications that the Democratic Party is simply not learning anything. (You don't think the elites pushing forward with V. Gene Robinson's "consecration" and CBS's hatchet job aren't all Democrats, except for the ones that think the Democratic Party isn't left-wing enough?) They are proceeding as planned, nevermind the unprecedented outrage. The last, assuming that Republicans and conservatives will make gains in the various elections, will be a further indication that the country at large is rejecting more and more of the Liberal Establishment's party line.

That's the view from Small-Town America today.

P.S. Rumors fly that CBS might excise from the mini-series some of the scenes that have caused the most furor. Would you think that a victory? Don't forget, some time soon — like maybe next summer when the election cycle really heats up — CBS will release the VHS and DVD versions of the mini-series. They'll pretty much fly below radar. And don't you think they'll include the deleted scenes?
