"Find Them and Kill Them"

Spawn of Satan becomes unexpected recipient of militant action.

Here's what I said a long time ago:

.... There may very well be many, many people among the Palestinians who really want peace. Good! Maybe even most of them do. Great! Find the ones who don't want peace — who think that killing innocent men, women, and children on a bus is a justifiable political tactic — find them and kill them.

Looks like the Israelis today took a big step in the right direction:

Palestinian militant groups are vowing revenge after Hamas spiritual leader and founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin was killed in an Israeli airstrike early Monday.

Hamas has even warned they would retaliate with threats not only against Israel but against the United States, as well.

The Bush administration said it was "deeply troubled" by the attack and that it had no advance warning.

Israel sealed off the West Bank and Gaza, banning Palestinians from Israel, and placed its security forces on high alert.

The Lebanese guerrilla group Hezbollah fired at Israeli army positions on the Lebanon border on Monday, hours after Yassin's assassination. Israel responded to the attack with an airstrike and artillery fire, targeting suspected guerrilla hideouts near villages close to the Israeli-occupied Chebaa Farms.

Earlier, Palestinian militants fired 10 homemade rockets toward an Israeli settlement in Gaza. Hamas also fired rockets toward the Erez crossing between Gaza and Israel.

Israeli helicopters fired three missiles as Yassin, his bodyguards and dozens of others left a mosque in Gaza City at daybreak Monday. Yassin, a quadriplegic who uses a wheelchair, and seven others were killed, including several bodyguards....

Is this going to cause more trouble in the short run? You bet. How, exactly, that's worse than sitting around while they plan — and continue — to kill innocents one by one (or a few dozen by a few dozen) beats me.

P.S. "Spiritual leader"? Spiritual leader? Inspiring the murderers of innocent men, women, and children. Spiritual leader?
