EnviroSpin Watch Prof. Philip Stott has a blog. He links to this revealing letter from Dr. Chris Landsea, Jan. 17: .... After some prolonged deliberation, I have decided to withdraw from participating in the Fourth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). I am withdrawing because I have come to view the part of the IPCC to which my expertise is relevant as having become politicized. In addition, when I have raised my concerns to the IPCC leadership, their response was simply to dismiss my concerns.... Landsea? Quite the name for a research meteorologist. :-) Lane Core Jr. CIW P Tue. 01/25/05 06:25:53 PM |

Jordan Zane Trimarchi "Our baby Jordan was born at 4:48 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2005." .... We found out that Jordan had a very large and very rare tumor inside his heart. The tumor measured 3.5cm in a heart the size of a walnut. He was immediately transfered to Columbia Presbyterian Children's Hospital in New York City, which is considered the best in the country. They performed open-heart surgery on Friday, January 21st. Unfortunately, they were not able to remove the entire tumor, and portions of it are interfereing with his heart's ability to pump blood effectively to sustain his tiny body. At this point a transplant is the only option to help save him.... (Thanks, Justin.) Lane Core Jr. CIW P Tue. 01/25/05 06:13:11 PM |

Devon Ferguson Known around here as Gorgeous. Yes, the neighborhood is beautiful. For a change of pace, Faithful Reader... some photos taken by your Humble, Faithful Blogster of my neighbor Devon Raye Ferguson before the local high-school Christmas Dance (Dec. 22, 2004). "Yes, The Neighborhood is Beautiful" "'Hold Them Up High', I Said; And She Did" Yes, the neighborhood is beautiful. Here's a bonus photo of Devon and Kathy from a couple of years ago. "Homecoming Cheerleaders" And, in case you've always been dying to know where I got the portait of Your Humble, Faithful Blogster that's on the main page, here is the entire original photo. Cool, how the colors on the flag match the color scheme of The Blog from the Core, no? Now, my Devon Ferguson is not to be confused with the numerous other Devon Fergusons you might encounter. She is the one and only Devon Raye Ferguson. And before you even ask yes, I tell her she should be a model. :-) Lane Core Jr. CIW P Tue. 01/25/05 07:34:02 AM |
