CNS Headline Ticker II

Plus, Oh Calvin, Oh Hobbes!

I have temporarily (at the least) suspended the CNS headline ticker. I didn't get any complaints, Faithful Reader, but I myself noticed two problems that I strongly suspect were attributable to the Javascript being used: (1) when the main page was loaded in the browser, CPU usage shot up considerably; and, (2) a very annoying flicker developed sometimes when Windows opened and displayed menus.

More importantly, the Calvin & Hobbes link on The Daily Roll for 2005 days will now work properly; unfortunately, the link on 2004 days will not, but I don't have the inclination right now to fix a problem that will disappear in a few days and not reappear again until Jan. 1, 2006.
