Old Fogey Sarbanes Calling It Quits

Thanks to Paul for notice of this article at CNN, about one of America's premier womanizin', race-baitin', poverty-pimpin' shakedown artists African-American leaders going to run for the Senate seat from Virginia now occupied by one Paul Sarbanes. Here's what Sarbanes had to say about his retirement:

.... Sarbanes, 72, announced Friday [Mar. 11] that he would not seek a sixth term, noting that he would be 80 by the time that term ended.
"It was just the right time," Sarbanes said. "We think we've served long and well and honorably, and we're very comfortable with this decision." ....

I think somebody who talks that way about himself and his career has been in office way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way too long.

And I, for one, am looking forward to seeing Frizzell Gray Kweisi Mfume fume in the Senate's will-be-smaller-than-now minority come 2007.
