Thirty Years a Catholic

And Newman's anniversary, too.

I joined the Catholic Church thirty years ago today, Thursday, October 9, 1975. And Ven. John Henry Newman joined the Catholic Church 160 years ago today, Thursday, October 9, 1845.

In honor of this occasion, I blogged earlier a short, incomplete biography (about 12,400 words) of Cardinal Newman, which I started and never finished. It concludes with his reception into the Catholic Church and a discussion of his Essay on the Development of Christian Doctrine. By presenting it here, I make no claim of its merits.
