The Clinton Legacy

Despite Hillary Rodham Clinton's crushing defeat of Barack Hussein Obama in the Puerto Rican primary election, calls continue for her to step aside:

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton won the Puerto Rico primary by a huge margin on Sunday, another victory for her over Senator Barack Obama in the fight for the Democratic presidential nomination. Still, after an explosive weekend in Democratic presidential politics, the big drama now facing the party remains how, when — and even if — she departs from the race....
In many ways, Mr. Obama is wheezing across the finish line after making a strong start: He has won only 6 of the 13 Democratic contests held since March 4, drawing 6.1 million votes, compared with 6.6 million for Mrs. Clinton....

How can this be? The Democratic rank-and-file are sending a loud-and-clear message: they want Hillary not Barack. And Bill Clinton was arguably the most successful Democratic politician on the national scene since Harry Truman: why wouldn't the Democrats — the party big-shots, I mean, and their hacks in the mainstream media — why wouldn't they want the Clintons back in power?

I think they learned an important lesson from Bill Clinton, but not quite the lesson he wanted to teach: when you get tired of the old bag, look for a pretty, new face.

So, on to Obama and defeat in the general election.

P.S. I think that's why the hardline feminazis are threatening to vote for McCain instead of Obama, if it comes to that. They know that the Democratic Powers That Be are treating Hillary the way Bill has always treated women: throw 'em away when you're done with 'em.

But "African-American" ranks higher than "Female-American" in the Leftist Hierarchy of Victim Status — which, it appears, the old bag guard of Women's Libbers is only now learning, to their chagrin.

Welcome, Ladies, to the world you created. You think you're being deprived of your just deserts: I think, however, that you're getting exactly what you deserve.

P.P.S. Of course, the feminazis wouldn't vote for McCain in the general election: their arms would fall off first. But they might not vote for Obama, either. That wouldn't be the Obama campaign's real problem, though: the real problem would be if the Women's Libbers won't campaign for him and, especially, if they won't get out the vote on election day.

P.S. Here's a similar take.
