Reid Trying New Tack on Burris?

His Magnificence, Sen. Harry Reid, deigned and condescended to meet today with Roland Burris, the appointed junior Senator from Corruption Chicago Illinois. Reid had some interesting things to say afterwards:

He obviously is a very engaging, extremely nice man. He presents himself very well. He's very proud of his family. He's got two Ph.D.s and two law degrees, and he talked about how proud he was (inaudible) having those degrees.

It looks to me like Reid might have been laying the groundwork for rejecting Burris on the grounds that Burris is too good for a seat in the U.S. Senate.

All things considered, one would be hard pressed to come up with an easier and better case to make.

P.S. I was being facetious here.
