Gargantuan Government Stomping Our Way

What? You thought we already had that? We ain't seen nothin' yet.

After 12½ grueling minutes of debate, the House of Representatives passed the Democrats' Dream-Come-True Pork Spending Scam, more often called the "Stimulus Package", with all Republicans and 11 Democrats voting "No".

$850 Billion, 1588 pages, and counting... somebody needs to read it!

CBO says only 20% of the total outlays planned will be spent in 2009. (Somebody at CBO must be reading it, then.)

What's coming? Pres. Gerald R. Ford (of all people) forewarned us, 35 years ago:

The American wage earner and the American housewife are a lot better economists than most economists care to admit. They know that a government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have.

It ought to be self-evident that economists cannot possibly know the potential consequences for the economy because economists cannot possibly know all the bill contains. The supine media, however, are simply reporting this as "necessary" because... their fellow Democrats say so.

P.S. The actual number approved by the Democratic House is $819B (most in appropriations, some in tax cuts). The money would be borrowed, and that number does not include hundreds of billions of dollars in interest that would accrue.
