St. Joseph the Worker

Ora pro nobis.

Today, the Roman Church celebrates St. Joseph the Worker, a feastday established by Bl. Pope Pius XII in 1955. Here is the prayer for today from the Roman Missal:

God, our Father,
Creator and ruler of the universe,
in every age you call man
to develop and use his gifts for the good of others.
With Saint Joseph as our example and guide,
help us to do the work you have asked
and come to the rewards you have promised.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
